About

Hello! Welcome! I’m Kevin! I provided tech support to small businesses and residential clients for over 20 years, and I’m here to help YOU with YOUR technology!

I live in Alberta, and previously lived in Lethbridge, Comox, Leduc, and other places across Canada while growing up, as my Dad was in the Military.

Welcome to my home office! I’ve got four computers here, including Windows 10, Windows 11, and a Mac Mini. I’m using an IOGear KVM to switch between the computers.

I’ve been incredibly passionate about computers since I was 12 and have used every version of Windows since version 3.1 (yes, I know I’m dating myself there). I have a Network Specialist Certificate, but most of my knowledge is self-taught from real-world situations.

My goal here is simple: to provide useful information that is relevant and helpful to you. I want us to build a community here, and answer your tech questions.

Please check out Kevin’s Practical Guide to Windows 11. It is my straightforward, no-nonsense guide for everyday people who just want their computer to behave exactly the way it should. It’s not an overwhelming, all-encompassing manual that tries to cover everything Windows can do, and it’s not meant to be. Please use these chapters as a reference as things come up.

My other book is my memoir, If You Only Knew: Losing My Dad to Multiple System Atrophy – A Tale of Grief and Gratitude. Written as both testimony and reflection, this book preserves the reality of one family’s experience while offering comfort, recognition, and hard-won insight to anyone facing the life-altering illness of someone they love.

I shut down my home business in January due to worsening health issues, which was followed by a long overdue diagnosis (chronic IBS), despite suffering for years. I also applied for MAID, and after trying all reasonably accessible and affordable treatments and medications that sadly didn’t do much for me, I was approved. In the meantime, this has given me time to compile these books.

Sadly, I cannot invite you to provide feedback, as I won’t be around. Hopefully, this book will greatly improve your experience with your computer.

I have sincerely enjoyed putting these books together, and I hope it helps everyone who reads it.

Any money made from these books will be given to my Mom to help her enjoy her retirement. So, please be generous! 🙂
